International HR Director

Take the lead in shaping the international HR strategy at Normec Foodcare. We are seeking an experienced HR Director to oversee our teams in Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. Make a strategic impact and drive our talent and culture initiatives.

Role description

At Normec Foodcare the business is growing rapidly and HR is growing alongside it. While not everything is fully defined, the overall direction is clear: ensure that people, structures and processes align with the organization’s ambitions.

As an HR Director and member of the management team, you will be the main point of contact for management both locally and internationally. Keeping focus in a fast-changing environment and translating HR strategies into practical, real-world solutions.

In this role, you will manage 6 reports and report directly to the Managing Director of Normec Foodcare. You will also work closely with our group HR team and the HR leaders from the three other business lines to drive alignment and collaboration across the organization.

Your key responsibilities:

• Develop and implement HR policies, including group-wide policies, and ensure compliance across all entities

• Define and manage job function levels, competencies and relevant internal or external training programs

• Daily management of HR operations team

• Oversee the recruitment team (has a team leader) and play a key role in the selection process of international management

• Integrate HR policies and frameworks into new entities

• Set, monitor, and report HR KPIs

• Coordinate the performance management cycle

• Coordinate the employee engagement surveys and follow-up actions

• Serve as a strategic sparring partner for senior management

• Drive and oversee organizational restructurings when needed

• Actively involved in employer branding initiatives

• We offer a gross annual salary between €90,000 and €100,000 for this full-time position, depending on your background and expertise

• You will be based in Antwerp or Ghent, with weekly travel to the Netherlands and regular visits to Normec offices in Germany, France, and the UK

• You will receive a phone, laptop, and a lease car

Your profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field

• At least 7 years of experience in senior HR roles, with significant experience in international environments

• Knowledge of labour laws, regulations, and HR processes in Belgium and at least one additional country, preferably France or Germany. Broader international experience is a plus

• Experience in managing recruitment processes, particularly for international management and executive positions

• Proven track record in developing HR solutions that align with the needs of growing international teams

• Experience in professionalizing and further developing HR policies and processes

• Strong problem-solving skills, independence, and resilience under pressure

• Excellent communication skills in English and French. German is a plus

• Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach
